Maybe you have read everything about your star sign and taken that sixteen personalities test. You recognised parts of yourself in every result. Even so, some decisions cost you more than they should, and some days you do everything right and still end up with no energy left.
Human Design looks at this from another angle. Instead of describing you, it shows you the mechanics you were built to run on. It reveals how your energy is spent and restored, and which way of making decisions you can trust the most.
Many of us live like a plane trying to drive down the road like a car. It gets there, but slowly and with enormous effort. Your chart is the manual that shows you that you could be flying.

What you will find in your chart
At first sight the chart looks complicated. In practice, each element answers a concrete question about you.
- Energy TypeThere are five Types (Generator, Manifesting Generator, Manifestor, Projector and Reflector) and each one uses energy in its own way.
- StrategyThe way to move through life with less resistance.
- AuthorityThe place in your body where your most reliable decisions come from.
- ProfileThe two numbers, like 5/1 or 2/4, that describe the role you came here to play.
- CentresThe nine energy centres. The coloured ones are defined and work consistently. The white ones are undefined, and that is where you absorb and amplify the energy of the people around you.
- DefinitionHow your Centres are connected to each other.
- Incarnation CrossThe theme that runs through your life.
You don't need to understand everything at once. Start with your Energy Type and your Authority, the two elements that change your day to day the most.
One system, many names
Human Design chart, bodygraph or map?
They all refer to the same image. Human Design is the original name of the system, and the chart is also called a bodygraph. In Portuguese it is known as Desenho Humano, and I often call it your map.
The system was received by Ra Uru Hu in 1987 and brings together astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, the chakra system and quantum physics. For a fuller explanation, read What Is Human Design?
First steps
How to read your chart for the first time
- Find your Energy Type. It appears next to your chart. Read the Strategy that goes with it right away.
- Look for your Authority. It tells you how to confirm whether a decision is truly yours.
- Notice the white Centres. That is where you are most influenced by others, often without realising it.
- Leave the Profile for later. It makes more sense once you know the rest.

My chart
My own example
To make this concrete, let me use my own example.
I am a 5/1 Projector with Splenic Authority. For a long time I believed I had to force things to make them happen, and the world around me reinforced that idea. When I read my chart, I realised my Strategy is to wait for the invitation. That lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.
Splenic Authority explained something else I had done since I was a child. I always followed an intuition that speaks quietly and only once, from what I ate to the way I walked home. I never knew how to explain it. My chart gave me the words.

Frequently asked questions
Is the chart really free?
Yes. You calculate your chart without paying anything and with no commitment. We only ask for your birth details and an email.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
The time matters, because a few minutes can change some elements of your chart. You will find it on your birth certificate. If you were born in Portugal, you can request it online through Civil Online. You can also ask someone who was there. If you only know an approximate time, generate the chart anyway. In a reading we can look at which parts may vary.
Do I need to know astrology?
No. The chart is calculated from the position of the planets at the moment you were born, but you don't need to understand any astrology to use it.
Is Human Design scientific?
Of course it can feel strange to trust a system that has no scientific studies to back it, and it is fair to say so. My invitation is to experiment. Follow your Strategy and your Authority for a few weeks and notice what changes.
Can I make a chart for someone else?
Yes. You just need that person's birth date, time and place. Many parents make their children's charts to understand better how to support them.
What is the difference between the free chart and a reading?
The free chart shows you which elements you have and gives each one a name. In a reading, we go through your chart with you, in the light of your own story. We look at how your Type, Authority, Profile and Definition work together and which patterns they explain in your life, some of which you may have carried for years. You leave with concrete guidance for your decisions and for the way you relate to the people around you. That is when the information starts to become part of your everyday life.
Simply knowing your chart is deeply transformative
It is the moment when everything you have struggled with all your life finally starts to make sense.
