If July left you with the sense of revisiting the same conversations, August changes the register completely.
Throughout August, the Sun will cross six different Gates on your Chart, with Earth always following the opposite pole. The August 2026 transits bring two eclipses, a lunar node shift, and a channel that stays active in the sky until the end of the year. It is one of the busiest months of 2026.
This article crosses each of these six windows with the astrological context of the month, including the solar eclipse on August 12 and the lunar eclipse on the 27th. At the end, you will find a reading specific to your Energy Type.
What These Transits Activate in You
The Sun in your Chart shows what you put out into the world. It is your essence, the theme that occupies your conscious attention during each window of time and what others recognize in you without needing an explanation.
Earth shows the counterweight that grounds you, the balance that keeps your feet on solid ground while you live out the Sun’s theme.
When we talk about transits, we are talking about the sky in motion over your birth Chart. For a few days, Gates that exist in everyone’s design become active, even when they are not defined in your personal Chart.
Every Gate has a partner on the other side of the channel, the harmonic Gate. If you have that partner in your Chart, the channel completes itself during the transit and the activation feels stronger. A Gate you do not have in your Chart always feels more intense than one that is already yours, because it comes from outside and passes once the transit passes.
The forecast that follows tracks the six windows of the August 2026 transits, always with the Sun and Earth pair in focus, crossed with the wider movement of the sky.
July 30 to August 5: the Gate of Retreat (Sun 33 / Earth 19)
The month begins right after the Full Moon of July 29, which occurred with the Moon and Pluto in Gate 41 and with the Sun close to Jupiter in Gate 31. If that week left you wanting to step into leadership on something, the first days of August ask for the opposite movement.
On July 30, at 7:46 PM, the Sun enters Gate 33 and Earth occupies Gate 19. Retreat is the central theme of this window. You need time alone to process what you have lived through, and it is in that time that the experience turns into something that makes sense to share later.
In Gate 19, Earth brings heightened sensitivity to the needs of those around you. You may sense clearly what someone else is missing before they are even able to say it themselves. That sensitivity comes at a cost when you forget to include yourself in the equation.
Jupiter also enters Gate 33 during these first days and amplifies the invitation to retreat. It is worth resisting the temptation to fill your free time with stimulation. True silence, without screens and without podcasts, is where this Gate works best.
Saturn returns to Gate 21 and puts a practical question to you about control. What is genuinely in your hands, and what have you been trying to control without any result.
Pluto remains in Gate 41 throughout the year, and the lunar nodes approach the axis between Gate 41 and Gate 30. This channel stays active in the sky until the end of November. It is the starting point of the whole human experience, the desire that exists before any beginning has taken shape.
August 5 to 11: the Gate of Collaboration (Sun 7 / Earth 13)
On August 5, at 4:52 PM, the Sun moves into Gate 7 and Earth into Gate 13. This is a week of conversations and of noticing where your influence works best.
Gate 7 speaks about leading from a place of support. You may carry more weight in the direction of a project when you organize people around an idea than when you stand in front of it, and this window shows you that clearly. Those who support well often hold more influence than they appear to.
In Gate 13, Earth makes you someone others confide in. Listening carefully these days gives you information you could not gather any other way. The care to take is not carrying home the weight of what you hear as if it were yours to solve.
Jupiter continues in Gate 33 while Earth occupies Gate 13, which completes the channel between these two Gates in the sky. It is the energy of gathering stories and finding meaning in them, including your own story from recent months.
The Moon at last quarter on August 5 asks you to put your feet on the ground. If you have an exciting creative project, this is the week to handle the numbers and the calendar and let the concept rest. Venus enters Libra on August 6 and turns attention back to relationships, and on August 10 it forms a favorable angle with Pluto that helps resolve old tensions around money and self worth.
To make this concrete, I will use my own example. I have Gate 46 in my Incarnation Cross, and between August 5 and 11 Venus crosses exactly that Gate, with the south node in Gate 29 completing the channel in the sky. During these periods I always notice the same thing. Invitations come more easily and my body asks for more attention than usual. I use that week to say yes to fewer things and to live them more fully.
August 11 to 17: the Gate of Possibility (Sun 4 / Earth 49)

On August 11, at 1:39 PM, the Sun enters Gate 4 and Earth enters Gate 49. The following day brings the solar eclipse, precisely in Gate 4, and that coincidence sets the tone for the whole week.
Gate 4 works with hypotheses and possible answers, with the wish to understand before acting. The most common mistake in this energy is treating an idea as if it were already an answer and acting on it before it has had time to mature. The doubt that follows tends to turn against you, when in truth it is only telling you that more time is still needed.
The eclipse on August 12 falls on the second line of this Gate, associated with kindness and with recognizing that each person brings different strengths and fragilities. It is a direct invitation to forgiveness, especially around matters where you were right and that did not resolve anything.
In Gate 49, Earth deals with principles and values. During this week it is natural to become more aware of agreements and relationships that no longer match what you value. The temptation runs in both directions, holding on too long out of fear of change, or giving up early to avoid the difficult conversation.
Mars enters Cancer around this time and forms an angle with Chiron, which tends to bring old wounds tied to caring and being cared for to the surface. Venus forms a favorable angle to Uranus on August 12 and to Jupiter on the 14th, so solutions tend to arrive on their own when you give them room.
Mercury in Gate 62 meets Neptune in Gate 17 several times this month, and this is one of those moments. It serves to organize your thinking and check the full picture, on the condition that you do not force a conclusion before all the information is on the table.
August 17 to 23: the Gate of Devotion (Sun 29 / Earth 30)
On August 17, at 10:10 AM, the Sun enters Gate 29 and Earth enters Gate 30. This is the window of yes.
Gate 29 gives you the capacity to commit deeply to something and see it through, even when the path stops being comfortable. The shadow of this energy shows up when you say yes out of habit, out of politeness, or out of fear of disappointing someone, and then find yourself locked into commitments that drain you for months.
In Gate 30, Earth brings desire. It is the energy that sustains a dream over time, with an intensity that can sometimes be mistaken for haste.
On August 22, an unusual alignment occurs. The Sun and Earth sit exactly on the lunar nodes, with the south node in Gate 29 and the north node in Gate 30. Pluto remains in Gate 41, and the channel of vision becomes complete in the sky. If there is one moment this year to see clearly what you want to live in the years ahead, this is it.
The Moon at first quarter, a few days earlier, works as a reality check. After the clarity the eclipse brought, this phase asks what you have actually done with it.
In this window it is worth separating two things that look very similar. There is enthusiasm that comes from your body, and there is enthusiasm that comes from the idea of pleasing someone. The first sustains itself for months. The second disappears at the first difficult week.
August 23 to 29: the Gate of Intimacy (Sun 59 / Earth 55)
” width=”316″ height=”236″>
On August 23, at 6:25 AM, the Sun enters Gate 59 and Earth enters Gate 55. After two weeks of decisions, the month turns toward closeness.
Gate 59 deals with intimacy and with sustainability in relationships. It speaks to your capacity to dissolve the distance between you and another person, and also to choose who is worth doing that with. Any form of intimacy is an act of creation, which is why the choice matters so much.
In Gate 55, Earth works with faith and abundance. The emotional frequency you live in becomes, in this window, more decisive than the circumstances around you. This is also the Gate that sits at the center of the new cycle beginning in 2027, so whatever you feel here tends to repeat itself in the years ahead.
The lunar eclipse of August 27 falls on the sixth line of Gate 55, where giving stops costing effort and the world around you becomes easier to accept. On the opposite side, the Sun and Mercury occupy Gate 59, which reinforces the theme of the barriers you place around closeness.
Mars forms a tense angle with Saturn around this time, and old patterns tend to surface. Avoid dismissing them as things of the past. A pattern that reappears is asking
integration, and August gives you the emotional conditions to do that work.
Mars in Gate 39 with Earth in Gate 55 completes the channel of the full emotional spectrum in the sky. You may move from a state of great openness to a state of deep discouragement within the same day. The recommendation here is simple. Avoid deciding at the peak and avoid deciding at the bottom.
Uranus in Gate 20 with Venus in Gate 57 adds sudden recognitions. It can happen that you look at someone you have known for years and notice something that had escaped you the whole time.
August 29 to September 3: the Gate of Restoration (Sun 40 / Earth 37)
” width=”255″ height=”190″>
On August 29, at 2:23 AM, the Sun enters Gate 40 and Earth enters Gate 37, staying there until September 3.
Gate 40 is the energy of withdrawing to restore what you have spent. It brings the wish to work hard and to generously share the result of that work. Depletion shows up when you give more than you have and do not ask for support in return, often because you always seem to have everything under control.
In Gate 37, Earth brings the table, family, and community. It is the Gate of agreements and small gestures that keep people together, with inner peace as the foundation of everything you can build around you.
Jupiter enters Gate 7 at the end of the month and helps bring people together around a common direction. These final days of August also carry a theme known in Human Design as migration, a short period that happens twice a year and often coincides with changes of home, work, or important agreements.
Close out the month with room to rest before September. The body is what sustains everything you decided in August.
August 2026 by Energy Type
Beyond the general overview, it is worth looking at the August 2026 transits through the lens of your Energy Type. How you live these six windows always depends on your Strategy and your Authority.
Generator
This month tests your sacral response more than usual, especially during the week of Gate 29. Wait for the right question and listen to your body before committing, because a mental yes in August will cost you months of sacral energy. In the first window, with Gate 33, give yourself permission to rest without offering anyone an explanation. The eclipse in Gate 4 will try to convince you that you need to figure out the answer with your head, and yours never comes from there. At the end of the month, with the Sun in Gate 40, take care of your body before September. Learn more about your energy in The Generator.
Manifesting Generator
Your energy tends to run ahead of events, and August has two weeks where that can cost you. Respond first, like any Generator, and only then move quickly. In the Gate 29 window, between the 17th and the 23rd, the risk lies in committing to something big before you have a clear response from your body. The Gate 7 week favors you if you accept supporting rather than leading, because your speed works best when you are not alone in the process. Inform whoever is affected by your movements, even when that feels like a delay to you. You can go deeper in The Manifesting Generator.
Manifestor
The first days of the month call for retreat, and that rarely appeals to you. Even so, Gate 33 gives you access to a clarity you cannot get while in motion. After the eclipse on August 12 you have the conditions to initiate from a clear decision, as long as you do not confuse impulse with clarity. Inform before you act, especially during the Gate 59 week, when your choices about closeness and agreements affect more people than you imagine. The last week of the month is for restoring energy. Learn more in The Manifestor.
Projector
The week of August 5 to 11 is yours. With the Sun in Gate 7 and Earth in Gate 13, your capacity to see what others do not see comes to the forefront, and recognition tends to arrive without you needing to push for it. Guard your energy during the two eclipse weeks, because the environment gets noisy and it is easy to spend yourself on things you were not invited into. Wait for the genuine invitation before getting involved in whatever comes up during the Gate 29 window. Rest properly at the end of the month. Go deeper in The Projector.
Reflector
Two eclipses in the same month make August an unreliable period for deciding. Your Authority needs the full cycle of the Moon, and this cycle will have interruptions that change what you feel from one day to the next. Pay attention to the environments and the people you spend time with, because that is where your information lives. If you have an important decision on the table, save it for September. What you feel during these weeks says more about the quality of what surrounds you than about you. Learn more in The Reflector.
Some months are measured by what you did. August is measured by what still makes sense once the intensity has passed.
